Grief and Autism

Somehow this isn't surprising at all, and yes even people without autism can be mightily out of sorts in response to loss.

On Grieving and Autism

Upon further questioning, it was determined that the patient’s aggressive behavior started within a week of his friend leaving.  He was grieving the loss of his friend.  The author used this story to illustrate that, for some of us on the spectrum, grieving will involve a lower frustration tolerance, irritability, and sometimes acting out or rage.
